Go Out With Me

So today's Dylan's day off and you're going to come with us downtown. Just down the block from the blood draw place they're tearing down an old movie theater. Kinda makes me sad because that's such a waste of resources. Rumor is it's going to be a Marriott hotel. Keep your fingers crossed, maybe Dylan and I will be able to take the associate rate and get a night out at a hotel once in awhile.

Ok, now we're going to walk to the police station to get my background check started... Look, Pic Man Tattoo! Let's stop and get a tattoo...
Or not. No money for tattoos right now. Maybe next time ;) Just down the street is something that always makes me think of Dad.
Here's the downtown library. I love to go here but I always come home from there with entirely too many books. Good thing I take the bus now. Walking home from the library was pure hell. The police station is just across the street from here.
Ok, we're all done, now we need to get this to the post office. Look, there go my immigration papers. My heart is all poundy. lol

Well, we went shopping at Preston Crossing Mall, but we were having so much fun we didn't take any pictures (besides, Walmart, Michael's, and Futureshop aren't blogworthy). There's the bus as it pulls away.
I need to stop in here for some bread.

Look, the Stokes seed catalogue came while we were gone.
Come see me tomorrow when we walk to the library and I show you around my neighborhood. :)

(P.S. Here's an "in action" pic of Dylan's socks...)

Now with 100% More Fiber!

Wow, yeah, it's been a month since I last posted anything "fiber" related. Loooong photo blog today...

First, progress on Dylan's sweater:

The sleeves

Yes, I'm aware it's just yarn. They're still sleeves. lol

I finally finished Dylan's socks (my mind blew the number of ends to weave in WAY out of proportion, there were only three left)

And a closeup...

And I'm finally making a pair of socks for myself!

Pattern: Jaywalker by Grumperina
Yarn: Regia Canadian Color #4746

I'm not sure if I like it or not. I'd love it if there were no grey. When I bought the yarn I thought it would just be an accent color but it's a complete stripe. I dunno, we'll see when they're done I guess.

To get off of the knitting track for a little while, here's my latest sewing project:

Detail of the skull and hearts:

I went yarn shopping last Thursday and along with the Regia yarn you saw up there I also bought the rest of my Misti Alpaca laceweight for my shawl (the shawl is in this picture too)

Some sock yarn I'd never heard of before (not sure where the ball band is so I can't really tell you what brand it is)

And some Addi turbos

I haven't tried these out yet but I'm going to try to get the gauge for Shedir (the gorgeous cabled hat in the breast cancer edition of knitty) as soon as I get some projects off of the needles

Oh.. you noticed that thing made of Paton's SWS in the backround huh? Oh, that... that's not really anything... Just half of a BRANCHING OUT!!! Mwah ha ha ha ha ha, bite me Krystal.

Why only half you say? Did I mess up somewhere? NO! Ha ha ha ha ha... This is all I had left after the last row...

Ahem... sorry, couldn't help myself. lol You know I love ya Krystal. :P
