New Recipe and... BABY PICTURES!!!

NEW BABY PICTURES!! WOO!

lol

*ahem* Anyway. Dylan and I took these pictures when we watched Miss O the other day. She's so precious. And yes, she's watching tv in one of these pictures. Just after that she fell asleep watching Little Bear. Two of these are blurry, but I didn't want to turn on the flash (which would improve the image quality) because the camera was right there in her face.

I'm knitting but a lot of it is Christmas knitting so I'm keeping it quiet here on the blog. I do have a new recipe for you though.

Tortellini Soup

1 package Italian sausage
1 medium onion, roughly chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 medium sized can of crushed tomatoes (not sure of the oz/grams of the can I used and it's already gone out in the trash)
1/2 a carton of beef broth or 1 1/2 cups water
1/2 bag frozen pepper slices
2 cups fresh tortellini
1 can of sliced mushrooms or 1 1/2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced

Remove sausage from casing and brown in a dutch oven over medium high heat until almost fully cooked. Add the onion, garlic, and Italian seasoning and continue cooking until the meat is completely done and the onion and garlic are soft. (If you're using fresh mushrooms now would be the time to add them) Add the tomatoes and broth and cook until the mixture doesn't taste so "tomato-ey". Add the frozen peppers, tortellini, and mushrooms and enough water to bring the soup to your desired consistency. Cook until the tortellini is soft and the frozen pepper strips are hot. Serve with a slice of crusty bread and a salad. Enjoy!

Baby Pictures!!!

Zana and Doug brought Miss O over last night so she could finally meet her Uncle Dylan. I'd say they like each other. *grin*

She and I already know each other. I'm that lady that gives her bottles and has those great boobs. Babies love the boobs. It's weird.

Then of course there's Grandma. Grandma's the only one of us (aside from her parents of course) that can get away with holding her that way. To get the picture of the two of us I had to switch her into that position and if you look at that picture you can see she's getting ready to yell at me. I was saying "Hurry up and take the picture!" lol

And seeing this picture, I realize I really need to knit her a new hat. Cause this one kept poppin off. She'd grin at me every time I'd pull it down. Goofy kid.

LOOOOOONG blog post today. Lots of pictures. Better go get a cup of coffee or something Mama, this is not a dial up friendly post. lol Anyway, this weekend Dylan and I did about half of our Christmas shopping. Wanna see a picture of the haul? Of course you do!

I can show this here because the only gifts showing are the ones for Jean and Eric's kids and one of Olivia's presents. Hee hee. They're all in there. And yes, that's a big Buck or Two bag. I'm doing gift baskets this year and that place is good for cheapo gift basket fillers. There'll be some good stuff in there too. No worries.

We got some other stuff that's not Christmas related. Well, three of them are but...

Giving an advent calendar after the first of December sucks. lol We got these for Octavia, Josh, and Jordan.

And then we got the cutest thing for Olivia...

Isn't that adorable?? I love the little ribbon flowers on it.

This is it folded to where I think it would have to be for her to be able to wear it right now. And she'd be swimming in it any other way. Soon though it'll fit. And probably not for very long! lol

Let's see... Oh, knitting. Right. I have a FO for you. (Here's a special pic for you Mom. I'm in it. lol)

I love this hat. It's so comfy. Dylan loved it too. Too bad it's not for either of us. It's a Christmas present for someone.

Here's a pic of the top so you can see the swirly top. That's got to be my favorite part.

Pattern: Cashmere Ribbed Hat
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton-Ease
Needles: Size 7 circular and dpns

Notes: To account for my gauge of 4 spi (in k2 p2 completely unstretched) I only cast on 80 stitches, which is the womens' medium size according to the pattern. It's super stretchy, though, so it is way bigger than 20 inches around.

MOM! If Dad's in the room DON'T SCROLL DOWN!!! lol

Ahem. Dad's Christmas hat. It's done in an acrylic/alpaca blend, but you'd never know there was acrylic in there. Sooo soft. And freaking warm. Which is why I did this...

A knitted in lining for a couple of inches in case his head should get too warm. I'm a little worried about this one being too small. I wonder if there's a sneaky way for Mom to measure Dad's head. lol

And finally...

Erin's hat. Yes, I know, totally not a hat right now. It might become a shedir. We're still negotiating. It's a worsted-ish fake suede that feels so cool. And at $1 a ball at the dollar store? Can't beat that! lol

Look!

I'm blogging. That's right. Better run outside and see if the sky is falling. lol This is going to be quick since I just don't feel like blogging still (Krystal, however, is a hobag and guilted me into it). Let's see, what's new in my life... Olivia came home last week. She and I spent some quality snuggle time on Saturday, after I got my flu shot. She's already learned that all she needs to do is cry and she has Auntie Angie just where she wants her. Crap! lol I re-read Mistral's Kiss and read A Lick of Frost... Umm... Dylan's birthday was a LOOOONG time ago, but a disagreement with blogger kept me from posting the pictures from it. So here they are, Dylan's cake and the dinner I made him.

And in knitting news... Still chugging along on my flower basket shawl. Here's a picture except... well.... it's the wrong side showing. Oops!

I'm working on socks out of my birthday STR

And finally, the current love of my life (knitting wise. No worries honey!)

Pattern: My own entrelac pattern cobbled together from several things on the internet
Yarn: Patons SWS in natural earth
Needles: Size 9

I dreamt about this scarf. I was in love with it before I even had the yarn. I wear it all the time. I'd wear it indoors if I could. lol There was some confusion about the color but it turns out that after some of the color bled in the soak before I blocked it. Now the red is the color I keep seeing online. Good lord I love this scarf. lol Ok I'll shut up about it now.

I'm toying with another lace idea but I can't show you because it's for a gift for someone who reads this blog. And I'm working on a scarf for Krystal for Christmas as part of her "Christma-birthday" package. lol There, I blogged. Now I'm done.

Lazy Blogger

I still need to blog about Dylan's birthday. An argument with blogger kept me from posting pictures, so... And I'm not doing it today either. Cause I'm feeling kinda blah today. So I'm just going to link to Dylan's page, where there are new baby pictures to distract you from the fact that I'm being a lazy blogger. lol Dylan's mum went to see the baby with Zana and Doug and took those pictures. Dylan and I didn't go because I've been feeling kinda sick lately and we were afraid we'd get her sick. She's so beautiful. It's great that she's starting to look like a "real baby". It's hard to explain what I mean by that, but I guess because she was so tiny and thin and not chubby like your average baby... I think that's what I mean. lol Ok I'm shutting up now.

What Planet Are You From?

You Are From Venus

You love all forms of beauty. You love dressing up and anything luxurious.
A social butterfly, you're incredibly popular and a great host.
You're known for your fairness and affection. And as a frind to all.
Careful though! You're desire to please may make you too willing to conform.
Be yourself. Focus on what matters to you. You'll be all the more popular for it.

Krystal's Good Thing of the Day

Ok, so my bestest friend Krystal tries to post one good thing a day and she couldn't come up with something, so I told her I'd post a good thing for her. Here's Krystal's good thing.

It's Olivia, surprise surprise. lol I took these pictures at the hospital yesterday. For scale purposes imagine a large orange. That's about the size of her head. Here little hands and feet are maybe an inch and a half. I was in awe. She is the tiniest baby I've ever seen in my life. My hands are itching to hold her. Poor kid is going to have big feet though, I think. We'll see.

Hey, I even have an FO to show you! Double goodness!

Pattern: Infant Felted Mocs
Yarn: Patons Classic Wool Merino in Rosewood (leftovers from my stripey shawl)
Hook: H

I love these. They were so quick and ended up looking almost like little jelly beans. lol

I gave Zana and Doug the baby presents I had finished up until now yesterday. I think they both really loved the baby bolero and the slippers amused Doug a lot. He even put one of them on Erin's big toe. Now I just have to finish up the two baby blankets I'm working on and do a couple of little things to fit a 5lb baby (what she'll weigh when she gets to come home).
