No way. I hit 100 posts and didn't even notice. Well hell... Oh well. The news I posted yesterday was more exciting anyway. *grin* So what am I giving out for my 100th post celebration? Uh... A really good oatmeal recipe? That's all I've got. Really. No finished objects. No book/yarn/goodies giveaways. Really. Sorry.

Really Good Oatmeal (I know, real original. The recipe isn't too original either!)

This is the first time I've done oatmeal from scratch. You know, not "Get out a package, dump in some water, pop it in the microwave". Real oatmeal. I figured it was a good start to our first day back to eating real food. lol

3 cups water
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups "Quick Oats"
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 of a large apple, chopped into chunks
cinnamon and brown sugar to taste

I followed the recipe on the back of the bag of quick oats, which basically said to boil the water then add the salt and the oats. For my variation I added the apples and the raisins at the same time. Cook until the oats are done and creamy. At the last second add the cinnamon and brown sugar and stir to combine. Vanilla extract would be good at this point too, but I'd only been up about 15 minutes, so I wasn't thinking about "Huh, what else could I put in this pot?" Mmmm, or nutmeg. Next time I might leave out the raisins. This makes a lot. I had a bowl, Dylan had a bowl, his mom had a bowl, and there were still leftovers.
